An Evening of Art, Performance and Magick

This evening of art, performance and magick centres around a full cast dramatic reading of The Magus of Klooks Kleek - a play by Paul A.Green, with live sound design by Zak Hane. It focuses on the enigmatic Graham Bond the founding member and vital force of the Graham Bond Organization and one of the key figures on the British music scene.

His musical brilliance and outrageous showmanship impacted upon so many of the most innovative bands of the 1960s - Cream, Blind Faith, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Colosseum to mention but a few!



Bond claimed to be the lost son of the Great Beast himself, Aleister Crowley - the Arch-Mage. Like Crowley, Bond was deeply engaged in magick, the Tarot and narcotics. His short life, that ended tragically is the subject of this play,originally written for radio The Magus of Klooks Kleek was first performed at The Manchester Folk Horror Festival 2023 at The Peer Hat.



The play will be performed against a backdrop of artworks by local artist Cordelia Howard that will evoke the mysterious and intriguing world of the Tarot and Michael Howard will give an illuminated talk on how Tarot has influenced artists and writers of the twentieth century and beyond.
