FAQ's

What is the tutor's backgound?

A former hospital doctor and medical researcher, Mark retired to Glossop in 2002 and now enjoys a second career as editor, storyteller, author and creative writing tutor. He's the author of six novels and six other books, with five different publishers

What qualifies him to run this course?

Apart from having had six novels published (see question 1) he's taught creative writing for several years, and several of his students are now published.

What background and qualifications do I need to join the course?

You don't need any qualifications or writing experience. All you need is to be interested in writing a novel!

Will the course be directed towards any particular genre?

No. All genres will be treated equally. Mark doesn't stick to one genre and won't expect you to!

£60 isn't much for a course. Why so inexpensive?

Mark isn't looking for income; all proceeds will go to Glossop BookFest, not to him. And he's aware that many people are struggling for money.
