The Glossop Creates Hub, located within the historic Municipal Building alongside the newly reopened Market Hall, will offer affordable studio space, shared workspace and a year-round programme of cultural activity. Delivered by Local in partnership with Hospitality Collective, the Hub is designed as a visible, outward-facing creative home at the heart of the town centre.
The Hub will bring together studios, hot desks, meeting and workshop spaces, a Library of Things, a zine and art book library, and a public gallery for exhibitions and events. Together, these spaces will support creative practice, skills development, collaboration and public engagement, helping to animate the Market Hall and strengthen Glossop’s visitor economy.
Expressions of interest are now open for artists, makers, designers, photographers, writers, creative freelancers and businesses, as well as those interested in delivering workshops, hosting events, exhibiting work or taking part in creative networks.
Claire Tymon, Director of Local and founder of Glossop Creates, said:
“Glossop Creates began as a way of making local creativity more visible and connected, but over time it’s become clear how much demand there is for a permanent creative home in the town. The Glossop Creates Hub is about creating the conditions for people to stay, make and grow their practice locally - while bringing energy, ideas and activity into the heart of Glossop. This is a space shaped by and for the creative community, and this expression of interest is the first step in building it together.”
The Hub forms part of a wider vision to establish the Municipal Building and Market Hall as a year-round destination, bringing people into the town centre for culture, food, events and creative enterprise.
The expression of interest process is light-touch and non-binding, designed to help shape the mix of spaces, tenants and activity as the Hub develops. The project is ready to move at pace, with a clear launch timeline and early cultural programming planned for early 2026.
