The now-legendary Dance Project returns to the Crystal Ballroom on Saturday 25th March with a stellar line up. The first event in 2023 will see world champion DJ Chad Jackson and Paul Smith aka Jiff hit the decks, hosted by MC Kwasi, aka The Smile Factory and Mr Scruff’s sidekick.
Chad has been a DJ, music producer and educator since the mid-1980s, having bagged the crown of Technics/DMC World DJ Mixing Champion in 1987. Resident DJ at the legendary Haçienda club in Manchester – to a worldwide smash hit in 1990 with ‘Hear The Drummer Get Wicked’ - he has gained worldwide industry respect and recognition and was recently honoured with a DJ Legend award by DMC.
Chad held a residency at Manchester’s groundbreaking Haçienda club during its heyday, being one of the architects of the newly emerging House Music scene, alongside fellow legends including Mike Pickering and Graeme Park. Chad quickly became a key global influence in the popularisation of the art of DJ mixing and remixing.
Paul Smith. aka Jiff, is a Manchester born DJ and a collector of music for over 35 years. A well known selector on the scene and fresh from a recent DJ set at Mayfield Depot. Jiff plays a wide range of genres from Soul, Funk, Disco to House/Techno and everything in between.
