The Orchestra of the Peaks - formerly called the Dark Peak Light Orchestra - has announced its Spring Concert date!
Taking place on Tuesday 11th March at 7:30pm in the beautiful setting of Glossop Parish Church in Old Glossop, the evening promises to delight all who attend.
The concert repertoire will include fan favourites such as Carmen's Bizet, the theme from The Godfather and The Blue Danube. And, for those a little more knowledgeable about classical music, there's also Mussorgsky's Night on a Bare Mountain and Beethoven's Egmont Overture.
The Orchestra
Led by Principal Music Director, Jeff Snowdon, The Orchestra of the Peaks is Dark Peak Music's community orchestra.
With over 35 members, the Orchestra includes people of all walks of life and levels of ability, from professional musicians to players who are returning to playing after many years.
The orchestra aims to play great music to the highest standard, but the emphasis is on friendship, inclusiveness, and well-being.
Get involved!
If you’d like to get involved with the Orchestra, they are always welcoming new players. The ensemble rehearses on Tuesday evenings at Victoria Hall and pop to the pub to socialise afterwards. Find out more at www.darkpeakmusic.co.uk
